iTattoo Artist is here! An idea that was hatched in my brain while tattooing my buddy Ethan’s ribs. I started researching iPhone apps and how to develop them. In September of ‘09 I started writing and designing for the world’s first faux tattoo machine on the iPhone. While I was in development some wannabe (not a tattoo artist) dropped his own version (it sucks) and I knew I had to hurry it up. iTattoo Artist was slated for a November ‘09 release but I was never satisfied with the product. I kept my programmer busy (and I think he was a little bit of a tard). But alas, it was released on iTunes the morning of April 28th 2010. So fire up your iPhone/Touch and head straight to the app store so you can become an iTattoo Artist! Only 99¢.
Jeremy did this tattoo on Richard from England. He put his own little twist based of the misfits album cover “Die Die My Darling”

Despite the wacky weather week we’ve had we still manage to keep busy and pull off some awesome tattoos. Below are a couple of tattoos that Jeremy, Derrek and Matt did in these past days.

This is Kevin’s first tattoo a pretty sweet Salamander done by Jeremy.

One of our good friends got this dead rockabilly girl, done by the Derrek in one whole sitting.

Matt hooked up Dilusha from Australia with this sweet sugar skull.
Good news ya’ll “Ping Pong” is now back at the shop, thanks to our friend Robert Sanchez for providing us with a new table we are now ready to get back into smacking some balls!

Also Derrek has some prints for sale $40 each on really high quality paper, send him an e-mail if you’re interested @ Derrek@brokenarttattoo.com.

November, Friday the 13th, I will attempt to beat the world record of ‘most tattoos done in 24 hours.’ I have learned that the actual number to beat is 801 tattoos set on Nov. 17, 2008 by Hollis Cantrell. That is an incredible amount of tattoos to do in 24 hours. I began to wonder if I should still do this. I have no doubt that I can beat the 801. If someone else has done this amount then I can too. I was just begining to wonder if it was something I needed to do. A lot of you that know me…know that I am wildly determined…with an “I’ll Sleep when I’m dead” attitude. However, as of now I’m still on the fence. I will continue to take registrations from people. If I can reach 500 registrations in the next month, then I feel the momentum will be there. I have also learned that you can put as many tattoos on any one individual. Hollis put 75 tattoos on one mans back. It should be one tattoo per person. But thems the rules so that’s cool. This is twice the amount of tattooing I had anticipated. Instead of one tattoo every three minutes (that was what I thought the original record was). It’s every minute and a half. Abiding to the rules of Guinness the tattoo must be 1.25 x 3 inches and have a minimum of two colors. I will offer 4 different designs. A bat. A heart with wings. The letters ‘LA’. And the number ‘13′ (for Friday the 13th) you can get one or all of these designs. The first design will cost $20…2 designs will be $30…3 designs will be 40…etc.So, October is the month of momentum! A vehicle that needs to gain speed. I need YOUR feedback and support. Tell everyone you know to get in on it. Register by emailing info@brokenarttattoo.com. Make the commitment to come to Broken Art Tattoo Friday the 13th and let’s bring this record back to LA.Cheers,J. Swan
